FIRST-EVER BENEFIT GALA

By April 18, 2015February 5th, 2018No Comments

Dr. Mark Fulton
THANK YOU
to our loyal supporters!

On Saturday evening, April 18th, over 150 people gathered together at The Anderson Center for the Arts in Anderson, Indiana to celebrate God’s work through the ministry of Mission Haiti Medical. The night started with a Silent Auction, where guests bid on more than 100 baskets filled with special gifts and event tickets, donated by more than 40 businesses, organizations and individuals. Robert Alexander of Wizards Mobile DJ played lovely background music while guests mingled throughout the venue while noshing on delicious catered fare.

Randall Gray, the event Emcee, started off the evening’s program by thanking the tireless volunteers and event sponsors, including the lead sponsors, Community Hospital Anderson and Timothy J. Alford Orthodontics. He then introduced the evening’s keynote speaker, Pastor Jean Marie, Clinic Director of the Lopital L’Eglise de Dieu Reformee in Saintard, Haiti. Pastor Jean Marie shared his story of redemption and the humble beginnings of the clinic. In 1998, Jean Marie’s church congregation of over 200 people amazingly raised $839 to start building the clinic, one block at a time, into what it is today. Dr. Mark Fulton, President, then spoke of his beginnings with the clinic and he and Kathy’s recent move to Haiti, and thanked the many volunteers who helped make the evening a success. Mark then, on behalf of the mission, honored Dr. William A. Engle for his years of dedication, his council on the board, his unwavering support and the countless lives Dr. Engle has changed through the mission.

After a brief intermission, a game of Head or Tailfeathers livened up the room as guests played a creative version of heads or tails for a chance to win a 32″ TV. Next, the live auction, conducted by auctioneer Kenneth Culp, Jr. from Rensselaer, IN, kicked off in a lively back-and-forth scene among bidders vying for chances to win a trip to Haiti donated by Higgs + Co., a 4-day 3-night cabin stay in Gatlinburg, TN donated by Mark and Kathy Fulton or an English Cream Minidoodle puppy donated by Royal Minidoodles.

The level of support has been overwhelming and we thank each of our guests, sponsors, donors and volunteers for creating an unforgettable and successful evening; the commitment to our mission and Christ was and is evident. Because of your efforts and gifts, we were able to raise just over $25,000 to go towards transforming the clinic into a fully licensed, 24-hour hospital seeing more patients daily and changing more and more lives in Jesus’ name. YOU are making a difference! YOU are continuing to build hope, one block at a time!

We give ALL the praise, honor, and glory to the Lord for everything He is accomplishing through the ministry of Mission Haiti Medical!
